The shorter the better. DI only. I want to mate it with the Gemtech GMT-300 because it can handle both supersonic and subsonic loads. Both are hearing safe out of 8" barrels or greater. Some of the companies who come to mind include AAC, Noveske and DD. Any suggestions?
If short is what you want, the 9" AAC MPW is hard to beat. Otherwise I really like the 10.3 Daniel Defense 300 BLK.
My DD upper and lower run flawlessly with a 9" AAC barrel.
H2 and H3 buffers both work with the DD BCG.
I put an o-ring on the extractor spring because I was getting a few FTE’s in the beginning, but after a class and a half dozen kinds of subs and supers, no FTE’s since.
I believe the 8.2" Noveske is the shortest.
AAC makes a pistol that you can sbr. I have their 9’ upper and it is beautiful.
Most reliable will be the AAC. I have had several other manufacturers, but the AAC was the only one that had it right. Have the 9" AAC now and it has not skipped a beat with supers or subs.
Thanks guys, whaddya think of the Gemtech?

I think marketing is a heck of a thing. I also think that it probably doesn’t sound better than my 762SD, which is relatively ginormous and suppresses well and still isn’t comfy to shoot full-house BLK through on an 8" barrel. All things equal, I don’t think I’d pick a direct-thread suppressor for an SBR unless I was going for a monolithic-type build.
I thought about getting a GMT-300 for a future 300 BLK build but I found the Thunderbeast 30PS is about the same length and weight, but can also handle .308.
My Core 15 9.5" shoots fine suppressed with a YHM Phantom Ti, or non suppressed.
Best IMO and from all the shooting we have done is the AAC and Noveske with a very slight edge to the AAC. Cant go wrong either way.
Ive been looking at getting a few other manufacturers barrels and building them up for testing as well.
I will be playing with a KAK short upper in the next few months too.
Between a 8" Noveske, 9"AAC, and 9.5"KAC, I would say the KAC is slightly better then the others. The KAC and AAC will both run supers and subs Unsuppressed. I would give a slight accuracy edge to the KAC over the AAC ( equal to the noveske, which seems to be the softest shooting, which makes sense)
I went with daniel defense 10.3". Anyone try Aac and dd and have opinion?
Has anyone checked out the Liberty Suppressors Leonidas yet? Looks nice.
