Looking to hear from persons using a Bill Springfield modified/polished USGI trigger in their AR.
How do you like it, and how does it compare to the original 7lb-ish pull/configuration the USGI trigger was originally in?
Is it smoother? Does it basically just lighten the trigger pull or what?
Just trying to decide if I should get Bill to do one of my 6920 USGI triggers?
Any info appreciated.
Very interested in this as well. I have been looking at his web sight frequently trying to decide if it is worth doing or not.
I have had several triggers done by Mr Springfield over the last few years. It is easily the best money I’ve spent on gun related purchases.
The triggers are crisp and much lighter pull than the standard single stage trigger.
I have shot ARs with high dollar triggers in them, and for me the difference is not significant and certainly not worth the cost.
Another advantage is that there is nothing to go wrong or go out of adjustment.
Thanks for the info.
Matt
I sent two FCGs to Bill on Monday.
I will report back in this thread once I receive…should be early next week.
I agree with warhawk. I have it in 3 of my ARs and will send all my FCGs to him from now on. Crisp and Light are the exact words I would use. Last time I heard, he had two different trigger jobs (3lb and 4lb). Something along those lines. I went with the heavier of the two and it’s perfect. I figured if the rifle ever fell without the safety engaged, it wouldn’t fire with a 4lb pull
Anyone know the turn around time on these? And has anyone used him for handgun work? I am thinking of sending my P30L in as well.
Thanks
Matt
Average…
I sent him a trigger about 2 months ago and got it back within 7 business days. That was round trip from TN to CO via regular mail. Depending on your location, your turnaround time could be better.
I am in TN as well so thats a nice turn around time. Thanks
Don’t know about handgun work turn around time, but for the AR-15 FCGs, it took about 7 days from post office back to my door.

I had one done by him and it came back in about a week and was as advertised. My trigger pull was reduced from 7.5 pounds to 4.25 pounds with reduced creep. It is worth the money IMHO.
I bought a trigger and hammer from him for my AR build. I opted for the 4 lb trigger and so far it’s great. Breaks clean with no creep or overtravel. I like the fact it has no adjustments to get out of whack. Very nice trigger overall.
I’m impressed enough that I plan to send him the trigger and hammer from my high power rifle and have it worked up as well.
+1 for Mr. Springfield as well - had my 6920 done as well as coupla HK pistols - fast and professional work.
6920 trigger is very nice
Had Bill work on my AR and P220. Top notch work and a great guy to work with.
Got a SW MP15. Sent the trigger to him on monday priority mail and received it back on Saturday. As for the feel of the trigger - wow, what a difference. no creep and very precise. At the range people cant believe its a SW. The trigger really changes the overall characteristics of the rifle.
I went for the 3 lb break.
OK OK I am convinced
Gotta get the funds up and send them both in.
Thanks for all the replies all.

I’ve sent a few his way, best money I’ve ever spent on my AR. Turnaround time was about a week door to door. Mine has a very clean 4lb break with no pre-travel and almost zero over-travel. For a defensive carbine, I haven’t found anything superior.
Round counts?
Anyone know who he gets his FCGs from?
Like everyone else, a big thumbs up for me as well. ![]()
