Does anyone know of a good smith/machinist, or company who can custom machine some short picatinny rails? I’m just referring to some short custom 1913 std rails that would be very similar to the ones that JP Enterprises/etc sells, that bolt onto their JP VTAC FF tubes.
I could find a machinist most likely, but it’s always nice to find someone, or a company who has experience machining these rails previously.
Does anyone have a recommendation for this?

Whats your application??? If you dont mind me asking.
I hope you realize that custom machining on a ‘one off’ scale is usually extremely expensive. That said, my gunsmith/dealer is just that, a custom gunsmith with all the machinery, lathes, milling machines, etc to do the work you need.

I know all about machining, and had I not sold off all my lathes/mills/bandsaws/welding/drilling/etc equiptment, I’d just step out in my shop and do it myself.
On the contrary, I’ve always been able to find a nice home shop machine guy, who is usually willing to take on any project I have, for a VERY reasonable cost. Many times FREE, but of course, I’m never looking for anything to be done for free.
I just thought I’d post here, and try to give someone HERE on M4C.net the work, before I went off to the Machine Shop forums again. I’ve got a ton of buddies over there, but all my gun buddies over here are certainly my main guys whom I prefer to deal with…

What exactly are you looking for??? I took a look at the JP 1913 rail sections and they all seemed reasonably priced for what you get.
