White Oak Armament?

As I understand it, their barrels are GTG.

However, how are their other parts like FCG’s and BCG’s?

It is my understanding that their barrels are excellent. The guys there are very good at building target rifles for the National Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio. Their match sights are excellent.

However, we are really comparing apples and oranges. They are not building carbines or middys that I know of but they do have an 18 inch DMR.

As a result their focus is entirely different from the focus of companies who build carbines and middys. I do not believe that they look at Rob_s’ chart. all that closely as to whether or not the barrel is 4150 CMV or that the BCG is an F/A (M16) BCG or whether or not the bolt is MPI and whether the gas key is properly staked or not.

I don’t think their rifles will survive a carbine class held by say Larry Vickers for instance. Their emphasis is on either a slow single shot cadence for prone 600-1000 yards or rapid fire cadence at 300 yards but nothing like the drills in a carbine class.

Once again, I would bet my competition victory on one of their excellent rifles but not my life.

For that I have a choice between 1) My BCM SS 410 Middy upper on an RRA lower (until I can get a BCM lower; 2) My LMT carbine as per the chart. I use either an LMT or BCM F/A BCG.

I also have a 1) BCM 20inch upper on an LMT lower because I wanted an excellent full length rifle (what I carried and jumped with in the service); 2) for target shooting, I have an RRA SS 20 inch NM A4 rifle with match sights etc. Later on I might have it “upgraded” by the folks at White Oaks Armaments. I have already gotten rid of the RRA S/A BCG and replaced it with a DD F/A BCG. The RRA S/A BCG is a spare.

Once again, it is a matter of apples and oranges. What you use for plinking, hunting (not dangerous game), and then target shooting is not going to be what you use for personal protection, defense, LEO / military etc.

I’m sure everyone already knows this. I got a real education coming to this site and learning a lot from Rob_s’ chart and being patient enough to save that little bit more of money to buy the “better” and right tools for the job.

I have made mistakes in the past but this time the opportunity and the knowledge was available and I tried not to make the same mistakes by looking for “less expensive” alternatives and then being disappointed at shoddy work, materials, and manufacturing processes.

20 weeks wait for WOA barrels.

Just ordered a WOA 14.5" from Rainier, having it cut to 13.7" for what was going to originally be a SPR build but turned the opposite direction. After I get the barrel, all I need is a Larue 12" handguard and Ill be ready for action. Iknow guys who are big into the slow fire iron sight Camp Perry stuff that swear by WOA, if their barrels are winning matches year after year then it must be good.

Thanks guys. I was really looking for info on their other parts. They have expanded their product line to BCG’s and FCG’s.

Every thing I have gotten from them was GTO
