At some point, I’d like to get a set of Warren sights for my 3rd Gen G19.
There seem to be 2 primary choices (at least according to this site): Warren Tactical sight and Sevigny Competition Sight, with multiple options in terms of combination of plain/serrated/tritium or modified to “carry”, which is “same as the competition, with a wider front sight and rounded outer corners on the rear sight.”
What are your thoughts/experiences/recommendations regarding these sights?
The general consensus on this forum seems to be plain rear with a tritium front.
I have had both the warren rear and sevigny carry rear on my old glokc 26, i preferred the sevigny rear with the square rear notch versus the U shapped.
I just took receipt of a new G19 with Warrens. Plain black square notch rear with tritium front. In dry fire point shooting these sights seem to be awesome but I have not yet been to the range this week. I’ll report back when I do but so far they seem like a quick easy to use set up.
I prefer the Warrens with the U notch plain rear and tritium. Sights are a very personal choice so I would see if there are any locals with the sights you can try out. What works for me may not work for you.
Unfortunately I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on different sight sets until I’ve found what works for me. Thems just the breaks when picking sights unless you luck out and can try multiple combos on friends guns.
Ameriglo also has many options and they are a great company with quality products.
I took a class with Scott and he talked about the human eye being drawn to sharp lines/corners and this was why he designed the more rounded U shape. It doesn’t draw as much focus away fom the front sight. Same concept for the plain vs serrated rear.
I have been through many types of sights over the years. The Warren version with the two tritium lamps is my personal favorite. I have them on two Glock 19’s and an M&P .45.
After talking with Scott, he recommended the .245 front for my G22 for POA=POI or the .215 for a six o’clock hold. After shooting it with them on, it is very close with my duty loads.
