Which sling?

Just curious which sling most of the people on here use and why you like it. I’m going to try the emdom gunslinger. Thanks for your input.

I like the BlueForsceGear Vickers - padded. Pretty sure I “won” my first at a LAV class. Hard to beat for a 2 point sling - snugs up well and loosens to change from strong to weak side with the control right up at the front.

A must have if you attend a LAV class and want to avoid being pointed out for not having the right sling.

You might want to check out the Quad Sling from savvysniper.com – interesting hybrid of many good sling elements.

I like either the VCAS or the Vickers AA model.

I have the Vickers padded and while I like it, the rifle ends up hanging a little low IMO. The package says it’s designed for use with body armor, but since I’m typically not wearing that during classes, if I had to do it again I’d probably go with the Viking.

I’ve currently got a VTAC padded on my carbine. Really like it, but I really need to work more with it to get my transition speed down.

Really still nailing down my preference for how it is setup. On one hand I really like having it attached at the receiver extension, but I can do transitions faster/better when it is mounted on the stock. But I don’t really like how it hangs when it’s attached that way.

Really, I just need more practice/training.

SKT Industries. Easiest 2pt sling I have used. Replaced my gearsector 2pt.

I have the Emdom and like it, but really like the savvysniper;)

I have the padded VTAC and the MS2. Usually run the MS2.

Spec-Ops Patrol sling. $30 from Midway. LINK

I have two of them with one on the AR and the other on my shotgun.
It has a section of the bungy elastic and can be adjusted on the fly.

I like the MS2 from Magpul, primarily for its ability to go from single to dual point. I use single when I’m actually shooting, then if I have to go hands-on for something, I can get the advantage of two-point attachment.

Only drawback IMO–it’s a little thin and if it’s directly against your neck, it can be a problem.

I just took a look at the Quad Sling on their website. It has definately caught my fancy. Especially with the mash hook and QD swivel configurations. I had never heard of this company before. Thanks for the heads up.

There’s…like…8 bazillion gazillion sling threads.

Search button is off to the right of any page header. Search parameters: “sling,” limited to thread titles only, and specifying Tactical Gear subforum.

Enjoy.
