I’m planning on mounting a magnified optic and I’m looking for a mount that will allow me to keep my Magpul MBUS mounted if at all possible. I have been looking at the Burris P.E.P.R…but I’m haven’t made up my mind yet. Anyone suggest another mount I should be looking at???
Would also tell you to give the RRA scope mount a look. Was brought up as an option in another thread, that I can’t find at the moment, and it may be cheaper than the Burris mount and achieve about the same result as long as you aren’t looking for a qd option. Have one that I think I paid about $60 for and have no issues for what it is. And also the Aero Precision Ultralight mount is something to also look as, and I believe that they are supposed to be releasing a new model that is more of a cantilever design. All of the above, as far as I know, should allow you to keep a gen 2 MBUS without issue.
I use a Bobro quick detach 30mm with a Viper PST 4-16x50 FFP and my MBUS Gen 2 lies flat with room to spare.
ADM, LaRue, Bobro. Avoid cheap, low quality mounts.
I was considering a LaRue as well, but wasn’t sure about the clearance for the MBUS…Shao, which of the Bobro mounts are you running, the extended or regular?
Larue mount clears my mbus when flat, with a 1x4 trijicon. Better zero repeatability than my ARMS mount.
Bobro is the best QD scope mount on the market.
I standardized on LaRue for all my mounts after a few boondoggles. Nothing is worse than not hitting steel because your mount get wobbly.
I use ADM for all my QD needs.
thanks for the input guys…I’m have narrowed it down to either a LaRue or a Bobro
I run ADM and Alamo Four Star DLOC
AS far as mounts go, for anything more than a 1-x… Stick with Bobro or GDI. Non QD has a much bigger pool of acceptable canidates. I am partial to Badger 1 pieces for their quality, price, and weight.
Do you really need a QD? BUIS are for the most part obsolete and unneeded with magnified optics.
That is something I have been thinking about a bunch, and I’m starting to think I may do away with the BIUS…one other reason I was thinking QD mount was switching back and forth from magnified optic to a red dot type optic, but I’m in the middle of KISS rifle build now and I may just slap the EOTech on it.
Go with a QD LaRue and you will never look back. It IS the gold standard for all mounts.
This thread recently covered similar ground:

My LaRue LT104 mounts function very well with my MBUS, MBUS PRO, BCM Troy and KAC 600 Micro BUIS mounted on various carbines with many millimeters to spare (Leupold AR 3x9 and Vortex PST 1-4x optics). Works for me, but there are several competitors (ADM, Bobro and GDI among them) that will likely do equally well, if not better, depending on your preferences. You will pay a premium, but I think it is worth it, as in most things AR. I can’t comment on clearance for these other quality mounts, however.

Well since there seems to be some questions as to the quality of LaRue let me ask this. Does any one have experience with the LT110 mount for EOTechs??? I’m thinking about running it on the KISS build to achieve a lower 1/3 co-witness on that rifle. Or if there is another mount out there that will get me what I need I’m open to suggestion…seems the more I research this the more questions I find
Buy an exps2-0…fantastic factory mount and can be had for around $420 with the rebate from sport optics. Sell your old one and you will be ahead. Larue is fine for non precision or accsesory mounts that dont require a zero. There are too many superior products out there for them to be viable with their shortcomings. The only area they win in is ammount of mounts for obscure parts. They make mounts for some stuff that no one else does.
Thats exactly what I have is an XPS2-0…want to mount it a tad high than where sits now. My KISS build will have the FSB and I want to keep it lower in the optic than a 100% co-witness…
Exps comes with internal qd mount and is 1/3. Xps is pic mount with absolute cowitness. Cheaper and more effective to buy the exp than a mount+ xps was what I was saying.
