Need some help. Building out a 9mm AR with a 5.5 inch barrel. 95% of the time i’ll be running an Octane 9 HD. I’d like to have the barrel down inside the rails so that the can/barrel joint is down inside the can. My question, is there a free float tube with rails that is solid? If I shoot this thing without the can, I don’t want to burn my hands with the muzzle flash.

Personally, I wouldn’t run a handguard longer than the muzzle of the bbl. 9mm may not be so bad, but that’s a lot of pressure on the handguard if the muzzle is inside it. Be sure it’s good one!
good point. So a mini 4 inch rail and a 5.5 inch barrel is a better idea.
Yes, that would at least keep the muzzle from being inside the handguard if you run it compless…
I have a 5" barrel with a 2.25 YHM Phantom flash suppressor and an ATI Stock 6.5" free float rail. The flash suppressor would come to the very end of the handguard if it wasn’t for the spiked nose cone. The long term goal is to get a suppressor and I wanted the connection to be inside of the rail.
