Which gas block ?

I am trying to decide between a standard under the rail gas block or a Syrac Ordnance adjustable gas block for my Recce type build. Being fairly new, do you feel the Syrac block is proven reliable enough, and can take the long term heat and carbon build-up without having the adjustment screw, plunger, spring or detent seizing up? I will be using a 16" RAUM mid-gas barrel.The RE would be the VLTOR A5 kit. I plan on using the new Surefire SOCOM 556-RC can and the SF3P-556 flash hider/adapter, can on most but not all of the time.The new SOCOM556-RC features advanced internal venting to reduce back pressure, reducing the suppressed cyclic rate and gas blowback on the operator. So would an adjustible gas block really even be needed with this can ? Out of the choices below, which would you recommend and why? A Noveske switchblock will not work and the block will be pinned and under the rail.

  1. A standard under the rail gas block and BCM BCG
  2. A standard gas block with an enhanced LMT carrier and BCM bolt
  3. A Syrac Ordnance adjustable gas block with a standard carrier
    and BCM bolt

I have no experience with Syrac but I am however one to keep it simple… Option 1 or 2 would be the route I would go. Centurion and Vltor make very good gasblocks.

I would go with option one. It’s a known working solution.
