I have a 870 super mag that has a 18 3/4" vent rib barrel. I am looking to get a +2 extention for it.
I am looking for suggestions on which one to get and I was wondering if the clamp brace would work with the vent rib.
Thanks.
I can’t recommend the Wilson extention enough. I put one on my 870 and the best way I can describe it is a brick shit house. Very solid.

The Wilson and Vang Comp extensions are highly recommended, and don’t typically need clamps.
The factor extension is also good (I have one on my 870P) and the clamp that comes with it only grasps the sides of the barrel and should not interfere with a sight rib.
A third vote for the Wilson Combat/Scattergun Tech.
Nordic. First class and you can mix and match caps, tubes and nuts to get exactly what you want.
+1 on the Nordic. I have been really happy with my Nordic extension. The finish on my Nordic extension is holding up way better than the finish on the gun.
I bought an S&J hardware +2 for my 590. It’s expensive but built like a tank and runs flawlessly. I don’t use a support clamp as it doesn’t hang out that far. I’m not sure of the finish on your shotty, but the S&J extension is parkerized if that matters to you.
I’ve used the Wilson on two guns at work and a personal gun. They’re great. I am looking for one for a 20GA but don’t see it on Brownells or Wilson’s web site. I sent Wilson an email to see if they’re still made.
I went with a wilson +2 and I am very happy with it.
I’m using a Wilson extension on my 870P now, and could not be happier.

Just heard back from Wilson. They no longer make the 20 GA extension for the 870.
I had the same problem - I went with the Choate for my daughters’ 870, they’ve had no problems with it. The base gun was an 20 ga 870 Express. IMO the Wilson looks better, but if it isn’t available…
Good to hear. I’ve used the Wilson’s on several 12 GA shotguns and like the quality and the price! I have an Express too with an 18.5" bbl. Some of the other options are just too long for the bbl length I am working with.
