which brand ergo do you prefer?

I want to try an ergo grip on my carbine but there are multiple brands like falcon industries and blackhawk ect. Just wondering which one you guys prefer amd why. Thanks.

I only have experience with the Blackhawk! ergo grip. I actually bought it as a fallback because the grip I actually wanted (Mission First Tactical EPG16) was on backorder with Midway and I am impatient.

Turns out I am now in a pickle as I like the hold and feel of the Blackhawk! ergo grip a bit more than the MFT epg16, but I hate the crappy/cheap rubber plug and lack of grip storage space in the Blackhawk! ergo grip compared to the MFT epg16’s very well made rubber end cap and generous storage space.

At this point I am running the Blackhawk! ergo grip on my ar.

Another advantage for the Blackhawk! ergo is it’s availability at Wallyworld (at least at the one where I live) and therefore able to be handled before even purchasing to begin with.

I have had a few of the different ergo grips and I prefer the bottom of the line cheapy compared to their soft more expensive ones. I prefer it over the magpul and others on the market. Best bet on the plug is to throw that piece of garbage away as all it does is get in the way and piss you off.

Which brand is that?

I use the Falcon Industries ergo grip. Have them on all my ARs. I prefer them over any other grip I have found.

Forgot to mention that the Blackhawk! ergo grip is a hard composite that is very well textured and not rubber or soft.

Also, I find the Blackhawk! ergo grip to be a bit longer in the grip reach and skinny in the grip breadth than other grips like the MFT epg16 which is perfect for my grip preference.

Ergo original w/suregrip

I like my LMT ergo grip. Don’t know who makes it for them.

So thats one for blackhawk and two for falcon. And I think lmt might use falcons so thats three for them. Thanks guys looks like I’m going to try that.

These. Solid enough to last, but soft enough to be comfortable. The ambi’s feel the best.

I’ve been rocking a Tapco SAW grip for a few years now. I know it’s not a big name, ‘high speed’, super-tactical piece of gear, but I swear by them.

That’s the Falcon Industries one.

For the OP: These one are textured rubber with a very solid feeling base. They feel a little smaller and narrower than some other grips and the finger grooves suit me to a “T”. Some people hate the rubberized style grips because they can hang up on your clothes and gear when unslinging or slinging. This is not an issue for me at all, but it’s a complaint I’ve heard. You’ll just have to give both styles a go and see what you prefer.

Thanks for all the feedback. Yeah im gonna try one out and see if it suits me just wanted to see which one you guys prefer. It looks like the falcon industries one is the most prefered so thats the one im gonna try. Thanks!

Do not forget that the Blackhawk! version is sold by Walmart (again at the very least by the one by me and is where I got mine).

It takes next to nothing to head over to their outdoor sporting section and pop one out of the package (they aren’t stapled or taped shut and even if yours are, there’s a cut out in the package at least to feel the texture) and give it a try/feel.

Not trying to sway your opinion, just trying to inform you how easy it is to try (the Blawkhawk! one) before you buy.

You know, I don’t normally like the ergo grips, but I recently shot my buddies rifle with a Blackhawk grip, and I actually kind of liked it. It is very grippy and even better that you can buy one at Walmart. I did not like the one that came on my LMT rifle.

I love the ergo by falcon! it’s definitely one of my favorite grips right now. I have been trying tons and tons of grips out recently and it’s still my go to. I do have the BCM gunfighter but I’m not sure if it will be able to replace the ergo.

thanks for the tip about the blackhawk ergo at walmart. I’m going to stop by one tonight and check one out to see the difference

When you do will you post your comparison please?

It’s all personal preference I suppose. I like my Falcon grip. It is the rubberized textured one. I run it on both of my carbines and have one on the lower that will one day be a pistol when uppers become available (at a reasonable price) again.

I like the Hogue Grip myself. It’s the soft one with finger grooves.
