Which AK-47 mag pouches do you guys run?

I’m starting to get back in to AK’s a little bit so I’ve been runnin’ & gunnin’ with them lately. Was thinking of setting up a belt similar to my M4 rig (HSGI battle belt) so was curious what you guys use as far as 7.62x39 mag holders. I run Esstac KYWI’s for my M4 but I don’t believe they make them for AK magazines. Anyone have experience with the G-Code Softshell Scorpions for running the AK? Not interested in closed top designs. Thanks.

I use HSGI tacos… cuz they fit everything.

Thanks. Was considering the tacos as well. Do you find that they close in on themselves after pulling a mag out and thus making re-holstering a magazine somewhat difficult or slow?

I haven’t had an issue with that, although they can be tricky to put magazines back into. I usually start the front or back first, that seems to do the trick.

I really like the Emdom/MM AK/M4 Double Magazine Pouch.

For belts I use Taco’s. On a plate carrier or vest I used HSP’s chest rig. The heavy will fit 47 magazines, the light will fit AK74 magazines.

I use a low profile discreet type plate carrier with a Russian Tarzan M21, M22, or M32 chest rig for AK’s.

Blackhawk Strike (the version made for AK mags) is mounted on my plate carrier.
