Where to get a .22 upper?

HI there any recommendations where I can purchase a .22LR upper at or a .22 bolt? Need something a little inexplesive to shoot, thanks.

Ciener makes a conversion if you have an upper that you want to put it in. Shop around for better prices if you can.

I’ve got a spare 16" post-ban upper that I’ve been thinking about making into a dedicated .22 LR. Sure would save some $$$.

Ceiner kit

Spikes Tactical sell a dedicated upper that uses a modified Ciener kit.

That’s the route I’ll be going. I just need to call them to get my specifics in.

The only thing I don’t like about the Spikes Tactical is the weight. It uses a standard profifle bbl. and a standard upper. If you are after realistic weight and look it is perfect.I cut my bbl down to 5in installed a URX and used a 9mm upper w/o foward assist and shell deflector . I call it SR-22. I hear Tactical Solutions is coming out with something I hope it uses an alluminum bbl and lighter upper. The Ceiner style bolt is not perfect for full auto. I want a dedicated full auto bolt.

That is one of the reasons I need to call them, I want the barrel turned down to .625". If my local municipal range allowed SBRs I’d also have it cut down to 10.5" or something, but since they don’t, the 16" will be fine.

Ciener Conversion. I ran mine between 2 ARs for about a week before building a dedicated upper. Started with a DPMS Lo-Pro upper receiver with no forward assist or port cover, because I didn’t see any need for them on this type build for the intended purpose. Then, shortened a 20" 1-12 twist M16 barrel down to 8.5". I finally found an interesting use for that old dust collector. Add EOTech, F/F rail, VFG, light, etc. to be very similar to the SBR host. The 8.5" bbl is light, handy, proportionate and has no effect on function since the conversion is a blowback operation. Add some Black Dog full-sized mags and it rocks!

In January or thereafter I’ll be getting a 16" Spikes .22 upper for T&E.
