When buying a Colt does anything need to be changed?

Or buy a 6921…

Crane O-ring and a Gapper (until you replace the A2 pistol grip, if ever.) Your social finger WILL appreciate the Gapper,

In fact, IM me with an address and I will mail you one of each. Free!

Congratulations on buying Colt.

What is the point of the 16inch gun then?
You’re not getting a mid length gas system, the overall length is longer, it is more of a rifle than a carbine. I just don’t see why the 16inches, plus a flash hider to make it even longer.

How does 14(1/2) inches make a 6920 better? I have 2, 16" Colts (6920’s) that run flawless on any ammo I feed it- why would I pay to have them cut down and welded F.H./SBR’ed?

To the O.P.
Most mods to a 6920 are personal preference. They come with a cleaning kit, 2 mags, and a sling- the supplied kit works fine- a few things are worth adding but in truth, you really don’t need to change anything on the gun it self.

Dude, you are arguing about 1.5 inches- how many rooms do you clear to notice that difference?

I perfer the Magpul CTR stock and trigger guard to the Colt factory.

…even 20 inches isn’t much of a rifle barrel…
If you aren’t used to carrying an SBR, you won’t notice anything at all…except getting used to creating jams to practice clearing them…
