10mm Auto
It does seem like the 10mm is starting to make a big comeback. Creeping along at a snails pace is the .38 Super. Too bad as it’s a fantastic round! I wish it was more popular.
I guess .38 super was the original “magnum” 9mm auto round. Sig just tried to reinvent the wheel with .357 sig, it seems.
Yeah, should probably have included 10 and .357.
As long as round count in magazine trumps cartridge effectiveness, there is no old cartridge coming back.
Folks are so busy believing that the FBI knows anything about cartridge effectiveness, the best we can hope for is better bullets.
Great varieties that will always be fringe are .38 super, .44 special, 9x21 loaded long, and .45 win mag.
I’m not quite sure what that means but of the three calibers you mentioned, the .45 Win Mag is the least popular of the bunch.
Relative to the original post, the 10mm Auto seems to be rebounding in popularity…the biggest problem right now is the lack of quality, inexpensive 10mm brass.
I use Starline Brass exclusively and will scrounge around the ground until I’ve accounted for all that I’ve fired during a range session.
ETA: I’m quite happy with 15 rounds of 10mm, 13 of .45 ACP or 17 of 9mm…
I think I’m going to re-do this in GD with at least 10mm and .357 added in. If a mod wouldn’t mind closing this down, I’ll do it right where it could get more traffic.
