Whats the best shotgun coating

This is my only shotgun
It is an 1987 - 870 Wingmaster

It needs a new coating.

Parkerizing was the coating of choice back a while .

Now there is some new stuff but the cost is more than what I paid FOR THE SHOTGUN .

Birdsong coatings are IMHO the best of the polymer type coatings. If it doesn’t have to be black, Robar NP3 is a plated finish that is MUCH more durable than any polymer coating. The color is kind of a lead grey.

Talked to Walter Himself Today at length.

The price was good ,and variable depending on the the individuals weapon .
The turnaround was 90 days
I sent the Shotgun in today .
Thank you for all the help on here.

I got the Birdsong 870 back today

He is the best to deal with.
It is as nice as anyone would expect (Including the Military)

I will post some pisc soon.

Shipped as promised ,turnaround 90 days

I had it done in Green T and let the company design it

The fixtures are black

Those who want a nice looking coating and functional shotgun or any weapon,I would recommend Birdsong .

Look forward to the pics. I have a pistol with Black-T finish and it is a very nice coating.

I have a Wilson SGT 870 which has their ArmorTuff coating. Been through matches, training, etc and has held up well and very easy to clean/maintain.
