What do you think is the nicest looking AR15? I’m thinking of appearance only, not quality, or functionality necessarily, but all thoughts are welcome. My vote goes to the defensive Edge SLR15, “The Grail”. I’ve got a couple of AR’s…they don’t look like this.
I didn’t really like the appearance of this rifle, but I’ve recently been struck with it’s beauty. It is somewhat understated. It has smooth, graceful lines. I can’t easily get one, being Canadian I have to get what’s brought in by dealers, or else I’d wait for years as paperwork laid about. If I was in the market for another AR, it’d be one of these. What do you think?

That’s not exactly what I meant. I didn’t mean to discount quality and functionality. Who could look at something that they felt was of insufficient quality and think it was desirable? I expect that there is such diverse thought on what “is” a good AR, that there would be a broad response. I don’t like shit just because it has a certain appearance.
Im kind of biased because I grabbed one myself, but I like the pure black look of the Charles Daly finish over most of the competitors finishes that more resemble a dark grey. From there you can go shopping for whatever doo-dads you want to add to the black beauty to make it look any way you wish. The M4 looks better than the longer rifles with the fixed stock and long barrels. The short overall size just makes the M4 look more serious to me. Everyone has thier idea of what looks good… there may be someone out there that wants his rifle painted pink… and to him, its got to have red and yellow ballons taped to the barrel to really loom good. I wont be doing it his way… but the point is that so many of the dudes on these forums will think that the most attractive rifle is the one that they own and accessorized. Just like my truck is the toughest and fastest truck in the eastern United states. Just ask me, I’ll tell you. My CD M4 Carbine is one of… if not the… best looking rifles in the state. Just ask me… I’ll tell you! My AK-47 is pretty sexy as well!

Since we’re talking purely about looks, I likes me a classic M16A1. I think a close second is the ambidextrous KAC SR-15 E3 IWS. Sort of a “this is what started it all, this is what it’s evolved into”.

Here is that personal opinion thing… I hate the look of the flat tops! I like the tradional carry ahndle, or if its not on… put a scope or red dot optic on there. THe flat top left bare naked looks like something is missing… as per my eye.

As far as just looks I think the Troy 7.5 combo is hard to beat.
