What's in Your Range Box

With all the stuff in my range bag, I can pretty much guarantee I left something important somewhere in my car or at home.:smiley: It never fails!

Here’s what I find myself using most (vs. what I may actually have in the thing):

staple gun
boxes of staples
Bic lighter
multi tool
WeaponShield pen oiler
shot timer
ear plugs
sunscreen
bug spray
writing pen and Sharpie
Band-Aids
lens cleaning cloth
M16 sectional cleaning rod
sight adjustment tools (AR and AK)
Glock armorer tool (punch thingy)

I have other junk in there too.

I have a lot of stuff in my range bag, but the things I forget the most are:

Staples
Tape measure
Sharpies
Water
Sunscreen
Q-tips
Cash
Lunch

I decided to split out my range bag into two separate bags. My criteria: if I would take it to both a training class and the static range, it goes in my range bag. If I would only take it to the static range, I put it in the other bag.

So one bag contains the stapler, staples, target pasters, tape measure, Sharpies and other crap like that, streamlining my range bag for what I consider more essential items. They both sit side-by-side and are stocked so I can just grab them.

that’s basically what i’ve got, as well… i’ve got an ammo bag that contains everything a man would need to sustain 24-48 hours of WAR- crampact fulla loaded mags, couple knives, rope, 100mph tape, gloves, spex, NV, lube, dope, condoms, flame, power bars, etc… and then my “range” kit contains targets, stapes, stickers, headsets, spotting, etc.

when the SSGA (Super Secret Government Agency) calls in the middle of the night, as they so often do, to tell me terrorists have kidnapped the president and i have 15 minutes to gear up, i grab my WAR bag. otherwise, i grab both to go to the range.

i would say that every bag i own has a small first aid kit in it.

what’s the worst thing that can happen at a range? gun shot wound!

a blow out kit is a minimum for the range.

two years ago my wife got a nice copper jacket in the leg. total freak accident but it still happened. the ricochet missed the benches, two other shooters and me. she was seated 10’ directly behind me.

i don’t think i’ll ever hear the end of it.
