He remains in critical condition at a local hospital. This incident came a few hours after he tweeted his opposition to the formation of a coalition government between the Socialist Party and the Junts, that allowed for Pedro Sanchez (the leader of the Socialist Party) to remain Prime Minister under the new coalition government.”

The economy in Europe has been tanking for awhile, the politicians have sold them out, and then add the Muslim conquest underway. Yeah there will be war in Europe.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. There are so many parallels. I almost equate the Ukraine/Russia conflict with the Russia/ Japan. Both are being heavily observed. There is a transition in military strategy and technology. Will the world powers change in time? We are also very globalized right now. There are lots of mutual defense treaties out there and everyone is just waiting for a major one to get tripped. Russia is a waning power much like Austria-Hungry trying to remain relevant. China is feeling abused on the global stage much like Germany was. Obviously it isn’t all the same but lots of rhymes in there.

I was married to a very beautiful Spanish Woman and was very interested in retiring in Spain or Portugal. She tried to explain to me the retirement system in Spain, I couldn’t quiet understand where all the money was coming from.
You know what? Either could the Spanish economy, because it took a real dump, I believe in the early 90’s in no small part because they couldn’t afford tyhe retirement system.
Couple that with various scandals within what was once a proud royal family and your ripe to get picked at by Commies and Socialists.
This is just rolling straight into a Civil War.
I have a buddy who frequents & is there now…he’s meeting up with his folks cuz they want to retire there & looking at property.
I’m betting they are in areas not effected, but will be interesting to get his take.
Man, I could never retire to a foreign country. Ever. You’ll always be an outsider and as fvcked-up as this country is it’s still where I’m from and native to. Now maybe buy a condo in another country (like Panama) but become an ex-pat? No way.
Me either & hope this knocks some sense into them…they have roots & the fam has old inherited land going back to las porciones down here so I can understand, but still.

Absolutely. Not just a political “sideways” but even some natural disaster (earthquake, hurricane, etc.). How high on the priority evacuation/assistance list do you think you’d be as a “foreigner”? Locals would no doubt have priority #1.
Dude, the Philippines? Seriously? Not only is it a Third World country but it’s also Asian, and as such they are quite xenophobic. You’ll never actually “fit in”, no matter who you’re married to. They may smile and wave but you’ll forever be an outsider. And being a Third World country (and one real close to China no less) if the SHTF you’re screwed…the round-eyes will be to blame for all their woes and you’ll be an old man trying to hide in the jungle! Most of Western Europe could afford their social programs only because the US was paying the lions share of national security and keeping the Russians on their side of the wall. If all of those countries had to pay for their own national defense they’d be as poor as most post colonial african states. Now that we aren’t maintaining a Cold War level defensive posture in Europe they can’t afford all of their socialism.
The lone exception seems to be Switzerland, but they’ve always handled their own shit and are prosperous enough to afford a little bit of socialism.
