What's a good M4 soft case that will allow a 30 round mag to be inserted?

This doesn’t really fall into accessories or any other category so I put it here.

I’m looking for a quality and durable case that has outer magazine pouches and will allow the rifle to have a 30 round mag inserted in the $50 range. I also want it to be a shaped case, not a square one.

I bought this one from Cabelas and it’s perfect except that it is just not tall enough by an inch, it won’t zip shut with 30 round magazine.

Part of the problem is if the measurements of the soft case aren’t online I can’t know if it is high enough or not. I need it to be just over 12" inches high, which appears to be what everyone makes them at.

I have a Tactical Tailor case that is large enough to allow an AR w/ mag inserted to be stored in it.

Is it a square case? It’s all I saw on their website. I’m looking for a shaped case.

I believe my MidwayUSA case will carry with 30rd mag in the magwell. Although the velcro straps hold the gun more snug with a 20rd inserted.

I just carry my 30’s in the six pouches.

Sorry hedp. I missed that part of your post. Yeah, everything I’m seeing for a shaped case has a 12" height.

The square cases give room for a handgun or two by the barrel.
Just a thought. I like the extra space.

Bulldog makes inexpensive cases but they say right on the website that after deducting for the zipper, the effective height is 11".

Do you need to carry “mag in” so your AR can come out shooting? If so, you could carry a 20 in the gun with extra 30s in the pockets.

I have had great success with 5.11 VTAC cases. I bought a bunch from LA Police gear when they were on sale. I don’t see much about them on the forum but they work very well. Carry straps, mag pouches, 4 hook and loop strips inside, etc, etc. I carry my truck gun with a 20round Pmag.

I have this case. My M4 fits easily with mag in and AimPoint installed + it holds another 5 on the outside.

I know its a Condor, but it does rifle bag things. Mine has three molle bags across the front. It was $40 at the gun show and does exactly what I need it to do.

If I take the Aimpoint off it’s real easy. Kinda tight with it on, but still fits.

Thanks, do you have to have your stock collapsed to make it fit?

With the Aimpoint on it yes because it sits further towards the tail of the case. If it’s off it fits easily with the stock fully extended. I rarely change it from where you see it set in the pic.

I use a Winchester® Tactical Rifle Case for my Duty Rifle. I have an Aimpoint PRO, Aimpoint 3x Magnifier on Samosn Flip Mount, and 30 rnd mag. All which fits in this bag. It has nice pouches on the side in which I keep cleaning/oil kit, extra mags (8) all with no problem. I also like the interior Velcro straps and padded half pouches that hold the butt stock and barrel.
