I have not tried the TT pack, but plan on picking one up early next year. Also, I can help you out with any TT product.
My daily carry bag for the last few years has been a Camelbak Motherlode. The internal slot holds a laptop perfectly and the external pockets allow for some organization. Been really durable. The new MotherLodes are now coming with a frame sheet, as well.
Either one of these bags would serve you well. The Camelbak is a bit larger, I believe.

That TT pack is one of the better values I’ve found, excellent price, low-profile, good amount of space inside, durable, and loaded with a lot of useful features. However, you’ll need to use some tin snips on the metal zipper pulls and use paracord in their place. Easy fix, just add tin snips, paracord, and a lighter (to melt the ends of the paracord when you’re done.
With metal zipper pulls the thing sounds like a jingle bell sound effect you’d find only in Christmas songs. I’m not joking about this, you’ll hear the jingling when you pick up the shipping box.
Have an old one from Eagle in woodland,
have a spare one in O.D. from Blackhawk in the closet
but not needed untill yet!

I had a TT pack and honestly, I was disappointed; you pay for what you get.
I own 2 kifaru packs- best quality on the market.
The Kifaru express is great, it’s a little more low-profile because it’s not covered in pals.
My favorite small(ish) packs are my Kifaru Marauder and my Camelbak Talon. Unfortunately they both look a little to “Fallujah” to be discrete. If I want discrete, I have Deuter ACLite 25 which is a simple bag type pack without pockets/organizers.

Any opinions on the Eagle A-III Assault pack?
I’ve got an Eagle A-III in WOODLAND (last thing I own in that color) that I’ve had for several years. Went to Iraq with me and back, and I love it.
Paid a whopping $99.95 from Brigade QM for it…and I think they still sell it for that same price. Granted, it’s not a Kifaru or LBT, but it’s been a good pack for me.
A-III is a nice bag, no doubt. Built with typical Eagle quality. However, if you’re carrying a laptop and such, the Motherlode works better. Also, I favor the pocket arrangement and organization ability of the Motherlode over the A-III

Loner, I believe if you call call kifaru on the phone you can get a pack made without the pals on the outside (unless you want them). It may actually cost a little less. They don’t make a pack until you order it- usually a 6-8 week wait depending on style and color, so if you need the pack next week, you may have to choose something else.
I have a 33 liter Black Diamond Stone pack that has taken a lot of abuse. I’ve even used it as a haul bag up multiple pitches while rock climbing. It has held up very well. Someone else mentioned Arcteryx, they make good products I have a 65 liter bag that I have used on 50 mile weekend hikes (with 7,000 feet of altitude gain thrown in). Dana and Gregory make good bags as well. Bags made for rock climbing or mixed climbing by the top manufacturers are durable.
