Hello everyone. I am trying to decide between a sig mk25 TB and a beretta 92g-sd. This will be my go to do all Shtf pistol and will see a light and be a suppressor host. I know I will have to get the barrel threaded on the beretta.
Which would you buy?
I had a Sig 229 and Beretta 92. Both very nice shooters, but the 92’s grip was just too fat for my slightly stubby fingers. I also found the Sig easier to rack.
AND, I have a Sig M11-A1 on the way to my FFL.
If I did not have my 226 ELITE, I would have ordered a 226 Combat or the Mk25.
The 92 G-SD is nice, just not 1200.00 nice. Still smallish sights and slide mounted decocker. Need longer thumb.
Nice guns. What model is the one in the lower picture? Also how do you like that tlr2?
I’d get the beretta for more consistent QC imo.
My brig tac and g-sd both have wilson short triggers and D-springs installed, so i also prefer their trigger reach and DA pull to the mk25 I sold.
I will get another Sig mk25 in the future though, mostly for collecting.
Not the Beretta for me. It’s my issue pistol and I don’t care for the high mounted after and massive grips. Plus I get a lot of sluggish slide locks because of grip and also my fingers sits on the side release so last round usually won’t lock the slide back.

I opted for the MK25 but a 92 Inox remains on my list of future purchases.
I don’t think you can go wrong with either choice. Pick the one that best fits your hands.

Either would work well…I’d also suggest looking at one of the Stainless Beretta Vertec’s, smaller grip,(1911 like) removable front, rear, sights beveled mag well… I removed the stock polymer coated stamped trigger from mine, and replaced it with a Beretta factory steel trigger, and a Elite II hammer, and D spring… The DA pull is smooth, Reset is short. Set up like this, this thing is easy to shoot, and shoot well. I’d also add Beretta’s are pretty easy to work on, (the exception here might be removing the firing pin) mags are cheap and easy to find, you can get spring pack’s from Wolfe that have every spring in the gun for around $20, If you plan on keeping it long term maybe add a spare locking block (easily available from Beretta, Midway, etc for about $30-40 and you should be good to go…
Beretta, do all the basic mods, keep extra recoil springs and have 1 extra locking block…latest gen…and youll be good to go.
Beretta for me. I don’t like where SIG puts their slide catch, my long thumbs have a hard time staying away.
I have a mk25 tb and absolutely love it. Every once in awhile I hit the slide release. But I also do it on my vp9. The mk25 has been bulletproof and is a real shooter. I added the srt and some e2 grips. Good luck both are good guns

Compare them feature for feature and dollar for dollar.
Sig had a reputation of spotty quality under new management in previous years. This is from multiple reliable sources (google it). One of the reason old stamped slide guns are so coveted by some. Not sure about current production.
Beretta hasn’t ever had a period of poor quality in recent history, to my knowledge. So = more consistent.
The mk25 comes with the short extractor also. Instead of the so called dreaded long extractor.
I’ve had both. The Beretta is a quicker handling, flatter shooting gun in my hands. Grip is the same size as a Glock 19, trigger reach is just longer.
Don’t have the beretta, but have the Taurus version. Really like it, but would probably still go with the Sig.
I have a ~ 2007 (?) production 92FS Brigadier, and just picked up one of the current re-released 92G-SD’s.
The Brigadier was flawless; tight fit, but very smooth. A very solid gun with no rattle when you shake it. I lost track of how many thousands of rounds have been thru it, but it had only two failures. One was ammo related (crap gunshow reloads), and the other was when a new shooter limp wristed it.
The 92G-SD hasn’t been fired yet, but fit and finish is equally as good as the older Brigadier. Every Beretta I came across has been equally as solid. In my opinion their quality is very consistent.
I’ve shot an older German Sig; I don’t remember the model, but it was a 9 mm with no rail. To me the grip was too large. I have small to medium hands. While Berettas are known for large grips, the shape of the grip just fits really well for me.
From just handling a few of the newer Sig’s, they just felt really cheap to me. I know that doesn’t say much, but there was a noticeable difference in the build quality of the newer production guns vs the older German model I tried.
I do have to say though, the price of the 92G-SD seems more based on the rarity/collector value of the model vs the features of what you get. Don’t get me wrong, to me it was worth the price, but I’m also in CA and my options are really limited. You might want to look at the Wilson Combat version.
ETA: I am a little biased against Sig. Not so much that I dislike the company. It’s just that here in CA we’re only offered a very different line of Sig’s than the rest of the country. They’re layered with so many worthless extra safety features; I’m just surprised they don’t come with bandaid dispensers.
