What would you do?

Hey guys, I’m looking for your opinions…
I have available to me two, new, stripped lowers available for purchase for $75 each. The negotiations are through a mutual friend. That being said, I don’t know what the brand of the lowers are (sorry). The friend only told me that they were “mil-spec” and “forged”. He couldn’t remember the brand. For sake of discussion, lets assume they are of lower quality. I wasn’t planning a build any time soon so I don’t need them right now but, I don’t want to pass up an opportunity if it’s a good one. I also refuse to pay the current outrageous prices of parts and, of course, availability is concerning.

Based on the current situation and the unknown, what would you do? Pull the trigger or let them pass?

Seems like a no brainer to me but I’m no expert.

Are you being serious of trying to increase your post count? Have you seen the price of ANY lowers lately?

Look at it this way, even if you decide not to keep them, you’ll always get at least what you paid for them, but almost certainly considerably more.

I lost somthing in translation

If you pass on them, have your buddy get a hold of me.

I could use a little extra cash!

I would most definitely get them!

I have and thats why I was going to jump at this but I guess it’s more of a fear of the unknown. I don’t like junk and if I commit, I’m not gonna back out of the deal. I’m thinking of worse case scenario.

I don’t think I would spend $75 on a plastic lower, but if it is half way decent name forged I would.

Tell me where they are and I will buy them for my training classes.

If they were one of the recent plastic lowers I’d skip it most likely. Even one of the old cast oly lowers would be very tempting at that price. But since they’re forged I’d say go for it. As long as the holes are drilled to the right size and in the right place, the name on the side doesn’t really matter all that much.

Worst case scenario you double your phone bill for the month. Best case scenario you made a thread bragging about your find in this unique market. Definitely thread worthy…

Being that the world has gone completely mad…

Grab em. It is the unknown’s for me that I would jump at it. For example, what if something broke in your current lower? Granted these may or may not stack up to what you currently have, but they will provide you with a working rifle. My lower’s parts finally wore out and I ended up replacing everything. Plus, it took what felt like forever to get the parts.

Friend of mine picked up a polymer AR lower for $75. It’s on GB and last night was up to $125. You do the math. If I were offered two lowers @ $75 each, I wouldn’t even post about it. I’d by them and if they were a brand I’m satisfied with, I’d be using them. If they weren’t, they’d be up for sale

Thanks for your time and feedback guys. If they end up being anything of quality, I’ll report back.

I ordered two no name lowers the day before the shooting happened for that price. I dont need them now, but in light of the market I called the company to verify I still have them coming and at the price quoted. I already have several takers at work who want to double my money. Get them, you could probably trade or sell the two for one decent name brand one if nothing else.

Instead of us playing which rabbit is in the hat. Why not ask your mutual friend the name of the company and tell us?

Come on man, where have you been lately??I would buy both. At the current market rate, you could at least sell them if you do not like the brand.

The real question is does the OP want a free $500? Lowers are going for outrageous prices right now. Sell them bitches!

Seems like a win/win to me either way. Get them. Quick.
