I have a buddy that is building a 6.5 for longrange shooting and he is trying to decide on a twist rate. I think he is wanting a Sabre Defence barrel and it looks like you can get them in 1/9, 1/8, and 1/7.5.
Which twist would be best for LR shooting?
For long range out of a longer barrel (20" and above), I’d go with 1:9. That’s what Alex Arms does.

What about a 18" SPR barrel?
Sabre Defense uses a 1/9 twist in their 20 and 24 inch precision marksman barrels.
