What sling do you like?

I have been doing a lot of searching on this forum and others about slings. I have seen a few “show me your sling” picture threads. I have shopped around quite a bit and still cannot decide what sling to get. I am building a M4 style AR. I want a tactical type sling but just cant seem to decide which one to buy.

Let me know why your like the sling you have?

Has it been durable?

Does it contain and metal clips or parts that can cause unwanted noise or rattles?

What made you decide to buy the sling that you have?

What make and model is your sling?

Thanks!

This what I have. It also comes in black.

I like the Blueforce/Vickers CAG 2pt sling, Blueforce single point sling and the ZM Weapons single point sling.

Vickers.

ZM Weapons.

I have the Vickers blue force gear sling. I like it because it’s made of very high quality material, its adjustable, and it has a fastex buckle to get it on and off easily or go weak side.

For single points, I use www.gearsector.com, for a two point, I use the http://www.vickerstactical.com/SlingPage/CombatSling.htm

I am not a fan of cheap thin webbing, or of cheaply built slings that save a few bucks. The above are both solid, well built slings that work well, and show that obvious thought has gone into them.

Here is my duty weapon running the GearSector single point sling. Its taped to get it on quickly if I am running or otherwise moving while putting it on. I tend to do this with most of my duty slings, but its something that you don’t want to do if you find yourself adjusting your sling all the time.

Vickers Sling/ Blue Force Gear

+1 Blue Force Gear Vickers two point sling

I like their thicker webbing material, good workmanship and quick adjustable design.

I replaced my older Blue Force Gear IDF two point sling model which is nice and have a two fixed length positions but it didn’t have the adjustable feature of the Vickers model which I like better.

Blue Force Gear RVS MKII, VCAS, and UDC.

The BFG Vickers two point gets my vote. Remember that not all slings are created equal and a lot of them use cheap materials.

I like the Vickers BFG adjustable 2 point for a tactical sling, and the Wilderness for a simple carry strap.

I was using a Viking Tactics VTAC (original) 2 point adjustable. Then I picked up the Blue Force Gear Vickers Combat Applications Sling. I now have the Viking Tactics VTAC on my M15 again. I like both slings with the edge going to the VTAC but that’s just my personal preference (I like the tail:D ). Both slings are the tits!

I tried the 2 pt BFG but it didn’t work out. Trained with this Eagle 3 pt (I know, sacrilege!), and it works for me. Very comfortable when you let it hang. No worries from hanging to a low ready or on target, with or without a vest. Stows behind on your back easily. From low ready to prone in a jiff, with a mag change since you’re down there.

I searched and searched and searched for a sling that I thought would be best for my set-up. I wanted a single point sling that was high quality and proven. I use a single point sling from Northeast Tactical. I like that the sling has flexible rubber over the metal parts that could make extra noise. The sling is adjustable and is also a “bungee” type sling. The material is super heavy duty. They offer the sling with several different type of attachments options. I use the snap shackle and it works great. Everybody likes something different but this seemed to be perfect for me. They offer more than single point slings. It might be worth checking out.

I love my Wilderness Tactical Single-Point sling with the SPQD adaptors to convert to a two point sling.

I use a single point sling from “Valor Industries” which frequents the gun shows in Virginia. It’s of Milspec construction (I admit I do not know exactly what that entails, but it seems well put together) and it works very well.

I really like the single point slings. With the three point slings I always felt like I was getting tangled up in the darn thing.

Viking Tactics Wide Padded Sling Custom Made…

Troy Industries Single Point for me. Don’t know why they aren’t mentioned in here, are the Wilderness slings that much better? My Troy has a lot of padding and is very well made.

I tried the Troy, in fact I think I have two of them, but frankly I found that the padding just never sat in the right place and was always in the way. It was especially annoying when the padding got caught in my shoulder pocket when trying to bring sights on target.

I switched to the Wilderness for single-points and am much happier.

For two points I’m currently using a Vtac, but I may try out the Vickers/BFG next. May just stick with the Vtac in this new version though.

i like both the BFG VCAS and the larue VTAC (which i modified slightly). if i want a single point style and i’m wearing a rig or armour, i use my own URS (simple strap that attaches to the rig).

Wilderness Single Point with 2 SPQD adapters for flexibility in switching from single to two point attachment. For dedicated 2-point either VTAC or Vickers.
