What Silhouette for MEU(SOC)?

I see the MEU-(SOC) qualification standard as being pretty popular for carbine courses, but have not been able to find what paper target is used. I heard it was a “standard FBI silhouette” but that seems to be somewhat of an oxymoron, as there are many FBI sihlouettes available.

Could someone please let me know what is used?

Thanks,

Pat Rogers uses these targets for his classes when running a modified MEU/SOC qual course.

I am not saying that this is how EAG runs their zones but a standard IPSC or IDPA target has accurate enough sized A zone’s. If you want to get more technical the brain zone I believe is more along the lines of the IPSC head A zone. One might also use a 3x5 card and an 8" sized paper plate for the full value zones on a silhouette type of target. Ironically the USMC SRQ target would work nicely. The USMC SRQ is the actual qual target used by my division (LE), but we don’t use the MEU(SOC) qualification but do run it for fun, from time to time.

EAG’s targets full value zones are very similar in shape and size to the SRQ. The SRQ has realistic sized - combat effective, high upper center mass, spinal to brain zone. Also a pelvic region on the full sized. The inner hit zones are not visible from about 25+ yards.

USMC-SRQ Targets. One with a pelvic region and one without.

Thanks guys.

I dig that SCSO target, but shipping from Minne-frakking-sota costs more than the targets.

Tell me about it. Shipping to my location, on anything is horrible. Good thing I don’t pay for the targets.

The shipping costs might be cheaper on the SRQ as it is paper and not cardboard.

Maybe my eyes are going bad as I get older but today I was shooting it and I couldn’t see the inner zones on the SRQ from about 10yards and out.

Does anyone know the diameter of the inner circle on the SCSO target?
