what rail for my Noveske 14.5 upper?

I am looking for the best rail for my Noveske Upper. I am not concerned about it being really large/long, more concerned with a being able to add a strong vertical grip. If its light, well thats better.

Any ideas or advice on my next purchase to get my gun up to the task. I looked on Noveske’s site, but did not see them. Maybe that is an option as well?

If you want light, I’d look at Troy’s TRX Extreme in 11".

It’s not a traditional cheese grater “rail”, but it freefloats the barrel and will allow you to use a VFG.

This assume you have a low profile gas block.

DD Omega 7! This thing is rock solid and easy to install.

For any 14.5" w/perm. attached flash hider/brake that you don’t want to have to remove I’d also recommend the 7" DD Omega.

45R, is that your gun with the same upper I mentioned? It looks great. I know that new rifle DD made is very light, with a very long rail. Would have bought one if I was not already set in carbines. Thanks for the feedback. I’ll search the web for it. Do you know a reputable dealer that has them in stock? If not, Ill find it.

If you WERE to remove the attached flash hider/brake what would you recommend?

Bravo company has two DD 7 for carbines? One touts the “easy install” the other touts its light weight. Can you clarify which is best. I’m ready to order and do not want to choke!

Is this it?

Pappabear the pictures shows a Noveske 14.5" upper with a pinned vortex on the Omega 7 rail. The AR on the bottom is the new DD M4.

I picked mine up from CS Gunworks locally. I think Grant at G&R Tactical has them in stock.

This is the one I ordered. DD Omega 7

global-tactical has the Omega 7.0 on sale…

Gimme your pick guys. GTS has better pricing, thanks.

He has DD 2 piece drop in 7 inch for $220 at 9.7 oz
or
DD 7 inch light Rail $238, at 8.5 oz
or
DD M4 (to feel like M4) 8.5 oz

Any pro’s or cons on this quick list? I’m leaning toward one of the first two. I probably would be fine with any, but still prefer to make an educated decision.

Thank you for the help.

Like others have said, the DD omega is awesome and takes about 4 minutes to install…I have one on my CMMG 14.7" upper.

The 7" Omega (2-piece drop-in free float) is the only one of the three you mentioned that you will be able to install on a rifle with a permanently installed flash hider UNLESS you have it removed and then reattached after installing the rail.

I just purchased the 2-piece. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks to everyone for the feedback. If I like it as much as I hope, I will install it on my LMT Sopmod as well.

dd Light rail would be a nice choice. im weight sensitive. so I installed this in mine.

Another vote for the DD Omega. Best rail for the money in my opinion.

OP will likely have a pinned barrel from Noveske, unless he wants to remove the flash hider (possibly destroying it in the process), the Lite rail isn’t a good option.

While not cheap, there is a DD RIS M4A1 style.

A 2 piece design. There are others. The other that comes immediately to mind is the Vltor CASV.

I am next to sure these will drop over any system with no need to remove the FSB.

RIS II requires it’s own Lite Rail barrel nut, this means the gas block/FSB and flash hider must be removed…

Noted. Thank you.
