What pinned flash hider do you recommend for a Colt M4 profile barrel?

Hi all,

I am considering purchasing a Colt 6944 upper and would need to pin a flash hider to avoid NFA issues. What flash hider would you recommend and who would you trust to pin it? Flash suppression is the only goal. Don’t want a brake of any kind. I’d be perfectly happy with the BCM A2X, but I’m thinking I’d like the option of suppressing this upper down the road. So the AAC 51T seems like a logical choice. Or maybe one from Surefire? I guess it all depends on what suppressor company I’d want to go with. Thoughts? Thanks for your time.

Chris

I have all my rifles (5.56 and 300BLK) fitted with AAC 51T flash hiders to run my SDN762 can.

Forewarning, the alloy AAC uses is very hard…mine went through machine bits like nobody’s business drilling the holes for the pin.

I would recommend a 16" barrel until you know with 100% certainty what you want to add to it

I used a BCM extended A2 on mine. I had it pinned by ADCO. I have about 2000 rounds through it. Works great

GemTech Halo will mount to any A2 flash hider, another option to think about.

Whichever mount fits your cans or the silencer you see yourself ending up with.

I’ve got a 51t Blackout on a 14.5 inch barrel. No complaints and don’t notice the “ping” while shooting.

Like Javelin said…whatever fits into your future suppressor plan. Even if you change your mind later it can be removed and changed out for something else. Permanently attached isn’t really permanent.
