AAC 51T on all!
My wife has a Rainier XTC on her lw middy, helps her control it a little better and I can still shoot beside her without any major concussion. Plus it was only ~$60. I’m currently back to an a2 and honestly unless you’re building a lightweight race gun, its hard to beat a $10 birdcage in terms of recoil control, lack of concussion and flash control.
True, but we can’t have those evil flash hiders unless our lower is a pre-ban.
Battlecomp 1.5 on my 14.5" middy; standard A2 on my carbine
Ditto!
I’m not particularly recoil or flash-sensitive, but I found the FSC556 to be pretty intrusive, especially on an SBR. When I needed a second brake, I went with a BattleComp despite its greater cost and found it to have roughly the same effect on muzzle deviation but with noticeably less blast. In their early days, BCE had a short run of blems at substantially reduced cost and I was fortunate enough to grab a couple and put them on my other two rifles. I’m not sure what the blemish was (something about the finish IIRC), but after thousands of rounds they look and work just like the original “non-blem”.
Wow I didn’t realize CT gun laws were so strict. As a comparison, my brothers lw middy with a dynacomp has less felt recoil but a greater flash and concussion. The XTC is technically a comp but doesn’t have as much flash.
You need to decide which attributes you value most: felt recoil, concussion and muzzle flash. Some comps are better at one while lacking in others. None are perfect at all three…
Recoil magazine did an article about this in their last issue. It was pretty good. http://www.recoilweb.com/preview-flash-suppressors-muzzle-brakes-compensators-tip-barrel-5927.html
A2 all day long
Not legal in OPs state.

Ares Armor Effin-A Brake ![]()

I run Battle Comps 1.5 on both of my guns, ive tried alot and ended up going with them, they work for me and thats what I like.
1 pws fsc556 and a2 flash hiders on the rest.
I have 2 bcm comps and 1 battlecomp on the way to replace those a2’s.
I’m also thinking about replacing the a2 flash hider on my 7.62x39 upper with an aac muzzle brake.
FSC556!
That’s my choice
Same here. Great all around device.

Me too. Its a decent price too
Levang compensator. Seems to work well for me and doesn’t annoy people on sides. 14.5 middy and I seem to have a nice backward pulse.
Also, I’m in CA which means no FH of I want to be “featureless” and run full cap mags. Not a concern first everyone.
