What kind of sling for an M-4?

I went with the MP MS2 and got the plate and all of that. I have a mk18 clone so it’s small. Great for that role but when I throw the G5 on the end, yeah, MS2 blows dick, or should I say, it allows my dick to take a good blow, like mentioned earlier.

I put an old BFG loop through the ASAP plate and a Vickers sling back onto it, mounted to the front left side of RISII.

you know after posting that song did pop in my head. i was hoping noone else would catch it haha

I’m hoping this isn’t a dumb question, but is there any way to attach the front of a 2-point sling like the Blue Force/VCAS Victory sling in front of the delta ring on a carbine with standard handguards, other than by using para cord or something? And how does attaching the front of the sling at that point compare to attaching the sling to the FSB, from a functional standpoint?

Pretty sure the longer one would work for the delta ring. A few members have used them for stock handguard configurations.

Get the longer blue force loop universal wire loop. I have the smaller one and could not het it to work at the delta ring. I think the longer loop would give you more options all the way around. I have some Moe handguards and think I’m going back to a rail again they just give
you so many more options.

Perfect, thanks! That’s ingenious.

I run a gear sector 2pt on my middy and couldnt be happier. Ill be buying more.

VTAC 2 point padded sling - Very versatile and comfortable.

I second JSantoro’s recommendation on the BFG UWL. Very economical and modular sling loop. Initally I thought they had little use on an AR platform. After seeing them used by a couple shooters in a Larry Vickers class a couple years ago, I changed my opinion of the UWL:

FWIW, I use both 2 point and 1 point slings. For 1 point slings, I prefer the PIG Mk-1 over the Mk-2. With regards to your comments on bungee, when we decided on the Mk-2 version (with bungee), it was in part a concession for those users who felt they needed it or were used to it, but I personally don’t use the bungee version. If you don’t have a specific application in mind for it, I’d stick with the Mk-1 version if you go the PIG route. Keeping the loop tight around the torso is essential to optimal performance on the PIG Sling, and having bungee is a little bit of a trade-off to that. Good luck with your decision! Stay with a quality sling like the ones mentioned throughout this thread and you’ll do good

I had the same problem myself… so having both of these slings laying around…

I think its important to keep your mission statement in mind. If you are thinking in the house, CQB type missions, then I think a single point might be worth a look. I like The Wilderness one, its simple, works, is easily adjustable, and keeps the weapon close and tight. If you do go with a single point, just like the poster above said, you have to keep it tight to your torso. I just find for my mission set (CQB/Home defense) that the single point lets me maneuver the gun a little better and is a little less finnicky once I have it on.

For military and other types of long duration missions, I like the padded VTAC adjustable sling.
