What is your sling preference?

I’ve used the search button and found a few threads, but nothing to really sell me on a sling yet. So, I figured I would ask the board for some advice. I do mostly outdoor shooting at the range, and would like to take an AR specific class soon. Maybe you can help me with my purchase.

  1. Which sling did you purchase?
  2. Why did you purchase it?
  3. Is it a 1 or 2 point?
  4. What are you using to attach it?
  5. Photos are appreciated

I prefer two point slings, but every build I do includes the Noveske end plate just in case I want to run a one point.

I like the adjustability of the two points offered by Viking Tactical and Vickers. I attach up front with the Colt style FSB side mount. Rear is usually a QD swivel on the stock. I usually incorporate some kind of QD attachment to break free of the sling if I need to.

I also had a bunch of 3 points that I converted to two points.

I haven’t taken any classes, so I can’t comment on how they work.

Thanks Rob!

I use a blueforce two point. I have a DD with the sling mount at the back of the lower and built into the omega X rail both point attached with QD joint sewn into the sling. It’s a slick set-up and I really like it. The QD sling wasn’t cheap but not having to buy any other attachment hardware made up some of that.

Used to run a blue force 2 point padded sling with sewn in qds. Tried the Ares Huskey and sold the VCAS. Simply easier to adjust.

Not to be snide, but thear are a few hundred sling threads to be found on Search and in the Tactical Gear subforum.
