What is your favorite weapon mounted light for a handgun?

What is your favorite weapon mounted light for your handgun? WHY?

Is a laser really necessary?

Surefire X300. Best built, brightest, awesome customer service, basically bomb proof. Although, the new Streamlight TLR1 are good buys if money is an issue.

I have the TLR-2 which has a laser. I like it, but in my opinion the laser isn’t very necessary unless you’re using NVG’s. I find it to be more of a distraction than anything.

SF x300 hands down.

I have owned a M3X, X200B, and now a TLR-1s. There were pro/con for each.

I think the TLR-1 series has proven itself, maybe not on the scale of SureFure but the price is definitely right. I can purchase two of them for the price of a SureFire. Now, if the TLR-1 wasn’t a proven commodity that argument wouldn’t hold a drop of water.

Disclaimer: I am a normal Joe Citizen and the scale of my WML use is bedside duty. I have recently picked up my first light carrier holster and plan to start carrying it some … but only after some live fire with the light attached. I need to get all that worked out first.

TLR-1, based on cost and performance.

Surefire x300

TLR-1s.

The X300 is a nice light, but absolutely no reason I can see to spend the extra $150.

I run a X300 with a DG switch.

For me it is worth the extra bit of cash to have a rock solid reliable light that I can work with one hand.

You are going to get a lot of surefire X300 responses. They are very good lights and durable as hell.

The streamlight TLR-1 is a very good light for the money, and recently their LED version (with or without strobe) has proved to be a good value. They seem to be holding up fairly well, but not as bomb-proof as the surefires.

I run an Insight Procyon (predecessor to the WX-150), it splits surefire and streamlight down the middle as far a price goes. It has proven to be a really good light and I like it alot. Hope this helps.

Another X300. Made the change after having a TLR-1 and 2. Prefer the momentary activation of the X300 (push) over the TLR rotation momentary switch.
The “strobe” is a gimmick IMO (new TLR 1 option).

My personal pref is no lasers wanted for me (TLR 2). Some may want the feature.

All function as intended, but I am glad I handed over the extra $ for the X. May get another considering the special LAPG is running right now with the 20 free batts

TLR-1 here as well. I will buy expensive crap all day without blinking an eye, but for the life of me I cant buy Surefires anymore. I just dont see what they offer over other flashlights at that cost. But then again, im a civvy, and im probably the only person who ever replaced their Surefire with a Fenix on their AR! Yikes.

X300.

X200B or X300.

I have owned the following. X200B, X300, X400, M3, M3X, M6X, TLR-2, TLR-2S.

My favorite by FAR, hands down, X300. A VERY CLOSE second TLR-2(s). No need to apply for 3rd.

SF.X300

Favorite: SF X300.

What I choose to use: TLR-1

X300 Like the switch better.

I have gotten excellent service from my X200 and x300. They have been bouncing around on my rifle and pistol for years. They look like crap these days but they keep on going.

I’ve used an Insight M2/UTL (incandescent) for HK USP, TLR-1(led) on a Glock 22 and 23, and an X-300 (led) on a 1911. All of them carried on and/or off duty as a LEO. I swear by Surefire lights, and I believe you get your money’s worth for the X-300.

For a quality light at a reasonable price, I would buy another TLR-1.

Watch ebay for both at great prices. Surefires X-200 go for good prices as well, though I’ve never used this light.

If you need it now for less, TLR-1, if you can wait or have the cash, X-300.
