such a great word… too bad it’s been so over- and misused that it’s not cool anymore. the article even uses one of these horrible misuses, “These titanium hubs are unobtainium, man!” as a perfect example of a gross misunderstanding of what the word is supposed to mean.

What’s a smoke T Mag and what’s TOS?

T mag is magpul’s translucent training magazine. Its described as a training mag b/c the durability of it is less than a pmag.
TOS stands for…well its another AR forum.
“Vaporware” would be more appropriate as it has been commonly used to define new developmental gear with an unknown, continuously pushed back release date, but that too would be a misuse of the term as it was originally geared towards developmental software.

Yup, without knowing which generation the poster is talking about, its anyones guess. IIRC, Drake made it pretty clear that the smoked mags had been given out to a limited group solely for the purposes of testing them. They weren’t something that was supposed to go up for sale/ trade, and the guys that did were pretty much out of the Magpul T&E program. There was more to it, but it was awhile back, and since I don’t sell my stuff, I didn’t pay much attention.
