What is the current value of a “safe queen” genuine FN FAL with a fixed stock compared to an equivalent condition HK91A3 with a collapsible stock? Which is generally considered more reliable? Judging by some accounts I read about African service in Angola the G3 series is actually a much better performer in dust environments.

My guess would be that a mint Belgian FN FAL will always be more than a HK 91. The FAL is no more or less sensitive to dust then the M16/AR15. If you can maintain a M16/AR15, you can maintain a FAL. If need be go to DSA and get a L1A1 bolt carrier w/sand cuts. G3 are good guns, but the recoil is stiffer and the ergos suck.
