What is Rockset?

To All,

What is Rocksett? I understand that it is some sort of “super” thread adhesive, sometimes used on the screws of low-pro gas blocks.

Is this the only application for rocksett? I want something to use on the screws of the front sight rail on a VTAC handguard, or would something like red loctite be a better choice?

Rich

Rocksett is used for high temperature applications gas keys, clamp on gas blocks ,and muzzle devises .

Rockett is very similiar to loctite. I got a small vial of Rockett when I bought my M4-2000. You apply it to the threads of the barrel when installing the Blackout 51T flash hider.

Here’s a pic of the vial from the AAC site

A 2 oz tube for $10 will cover most of us for a few years.

As others have said, it is generally used to secure Suppressor adaptors onto barrels.

We use it to secure set screws in GB’s and even gas key bolts.

I personally love the stuff as it can handle high amounts of heat and can be broken with force.

Thanks all for the info. Looks like a great product to have in the tool box.
