I’ve been looking around and can’t find a definitive answer.
Both steel core and lead core?

The steel core is exactly the same except for it says “steel core” instead of “lead core”

sorry I don’t have any answer for you, but your request triggered memories of when you could have a case of 1200 round UPSed for about $99 + shipping to your door.
Good stuff and very very cheap in the day. +1 on $99. I got some at a gun show eons ago for $89 a case. Gosh I wish those days were coming back. Then again, that would mean my Russian 1954 vintage SKS would magically re-appear in my hands and that ain’t happnin’…
The steel core is getting hard to find since it hasn’t been imported for a number of years. I bought 6 boxes last year from a guy who had half a case at a gun show. I think it was $10 a box and it was gone by the end of the day. I still have 3 cases of Norinco in the safe which I haven’t even opened. I think one is steel core and the other are lead core. Hope I don’t need them anytime soon but they are there.
The steel core is hard to find these days. The last bit I saw at a gun show was going for $1 a pop! That is crazy. I remember firing this tuff like it was .22 Federal bulk pack from Wal-Mart. I think most of us regret that now. Then again, I used to punch holes in paper with SS190 5.7x28 when it first came out. Look around at what that is going for these days. Crazy.
O
Yeah I have a bunch of silver box, green box, and yellow box that I’m thinking of selling
