I keep seeing people talk about Full Retard for the way of holding a VG. Why is using a VG considered bad?
Wrapping your whole hand over the grip, without any form of grip over/on the forearm itself, therefore having very little control of the weapon itself.

If you use the VG as more of a hand stop while maintaining control of your hand guards you control recoil better because the line of bore is where the recoil is generated. Instead of being 2-3" below that point. More experienced people can get more technical about it

Wrap your hand entirely around the grip. Have someone grab the front end and move it around. Now try it with the tumb break method or with out a vfg all together. You’ll see the difference.
