What iPhone(3g/3gs) case do you use?

Well I dumped my BlackBerry Curve II(good solid phone BTW) for an iPhone 3gs because I am a geek who needed to try it out. I am now on the search for cases other than the OtterBox. I do love OtterBoxes as all of my phones have had them, but again looking to try something different. What are you guys running? How has it held up? Would you buy it again? Pics are a plus. My biggest concern is keeping dirt out as I am a mechanic and come laundry day I can empty quite a bit of dirt/rust/crud out of my pockets where my phone rides all day. As far as looks are concerned I like utilitarian hunk of steel looks.

Thank You

Otterbox commuter. Gray is sort of FDE color.

Black Contour and love it. Hope they make one for th four before I upgrade.

i use the huge otter box

I’ve been through a lot of personal and work phones and the Otterbox Defender has protected my IPhone very well. I know you’re looking for something different but I haven’t seen anything as heavy duty yet.

As I said above look at the Contour Flick to get a case that will fit in you pocket and not hang up as the grabby rubber of the Otter’s do.

I’ve used both an Otterbox and a cheap silicone one. But at the mo i have a FDE Magpul one. Its a good case once you’ve removed the sections for the charging jack and headphone socket. Only down side is that mine has started to come loose on the phone.

Speck Candyshell. Just don’t take the case on and off a bunch of times. It can start to loosen up or the tiny piece at the bottom can break.

Thanks for a ll the help. I ordered a couple of cases to try out. OtterBox included as it will probably end up in the OB anyways.

I like this combo

The Incase shell http://tinyurl.com/29dp2us
with the Zagg (front shield only) http://tinyurl.com/2dd6y73

switcheasy capsule Rebel

This is the exact setup I use. It has worked very well for me.

Otter box defender. My phone has has been dropped several times on asphalt and concrete and I’ve had no issues.

One of the guys in our training dept dumped his otterbox for the rubber Oakley case.

Oakley case? I didn’t know there was such a thing! I’ll have to go look that one up!

GO with the Otter Box. it’s big and bulky but worth the size. I bet I have dropped mine a dozen times from heights of 3-6 feet with no breakage or issues with the phone. Know I got the insurance on the phone as well so not to worries.

While I dont have an Iphone. I have had the Otter box commuter on my blackberry and now on my samsung omnea II and I swear by them. They can handle some abuse and still fit in your pocket. The defender series is very rugged, but it feels like you are carrying a UPS scanner.
