Also, you might want to re-read your last story. That teacher probably did mishandle the situation. While I may not have fired her, should would have been counseled on her technique.
Echoing Sensei, a read through the first story seems to point out the trouble was caused by two disgruntled former employees. The principal or school nurse should contacted the parents about the incident to give them a heads up, I would have been upset also, but seems to me the fired teachers were the ones who pushed the story.
Schools reflect society in general and their local communities to a large extent. Therefore, they have their share of idiots and other incompetents as represented in the population. No more. No less.
I know a couple public school teachers. It’s basically a combination of horrible parents doing a horrible job parenting their horrible offspring and burned out bureaucratic administrators too afraid to stand up to said horrible parents and risking a lawsuit or embarrassment. Add to that a decent helping of statist ideologues with social engineering agendas and you have the current public school system.
Yeah, that pretty much did it for me.

Despite any issues with the stories above (I don’t have time to find more right now, despite that it would take all of eleven seconds to find stories of principals smoking weed and having sex with teenagers, etc) are we really going to say that Public Schools in the USA are a model of excellence?

90%+ is based on the parents these kids don’t have. Has nothing to do with income, although that don’t help matters. The genetic donors refuse to put their kids education first. They are willing to drive them to piano, soccer, gymnastics, swimming… But get pissed if they have to do homework. Are their kids really going to be the next Mia Hamm or the next engineer. Hard to be an engineer when you don’t know how to make change. The other 75% comes from the schools that refuse to put the well being of the majority ahead of the few retards in the room. Why do the rights of the one booger eating retard supercede the rights of the 20 other kids trying to learn something???

A fairly good case can be made that our culture has about lost any notion of right and wrong. Turning a kid over to the public school system will just about finish the job of turning him into an amoral fool. “Lord of the Flies” and all that.
My 6 year old grandson, with any luck, will never see the inside of a public school. No, his name is not “Sue”, but he’s going to need a lot of spine for the world he’ll inherit.
Hopefully he will learn “To Ride, Shoot Straight, and Speak the Truth”.
My son went to the MEPS in Jacksonville to enlist in the Army (Got 11X, but Option 40 was not available… yet), and the next Monday when he got back he was marked for 2 UNEXCUSED absences, my wife and the recruiter gave the school attendance office holy heck for a couple days till they relented and said they would ‘see what they could do about it’.
What’s wrong with the public schools is they are run by mostly women who treat every boy they encounter as a defective girl. We are fortunate to have a very conservative public school to send our kids to, but it still sucks do to incompetence with the staff and an extreme minority influence that seems to cater only to the plight of minority urban youth. If you’re a black lesbian, oh you really got it made. One of my best friends, who happens to be black, teaches the JROTC for the school, and has told me numerous times how poorly the school is run, how damn dumb the kids are, and it’s a struggle not to give up and quit.
The sports teams and JROTC are very good at this school though I must say, Yes the football coach makes twice what a regular teacher makes, but he must get results or he’s gone… The JROTC is on their way to Benning in a couple weeks for summer camp, parents are invited to come out and try the 34 foot tower with the kids… Hmmmm…
Too many shitty parents sending their shitty kids to what they consider a free babysitter. These spawns of don’t-give-a-shit, lack the discipline to sit there and keep quiet so kids who care and/or have parents that care can receive the attention of the teacher. The teachers and principals lack the ability to properly teach them discipline via corporal punishment or even a stern scolding. Schools then put all of the kids through a one-size fits all course of prepping for standardized tests so they can put up a banner outside. The intelligent kids never get challenged, because they don’t want to hurt the feelings of the low IQ kids.
I had to pull my son out of school as a kindergartner, because another student stabbed him in the eye with a pencil (not quite penetrating the eye lid, only bleeding) and the principal refused to take the proper steps to ensure my son’s safety. It started by this little angel directing language that would make a sailor blush at my son and escalated to violence, all within the first few weeks of school. The principal stood there and told me there wasn’t anything he could do, and he expected me to just cross my fingers and send my 5 year old back into that type of environment to learn. We went to another school for kindergarten, and go to a private school now. It’s a damn shame that I have to pay through the teeth so my child can get a decent education at a private school, while I pay through the teeth via property taxes so the local ISD can have turf on all of the ball fields.

sad things about private schools when kids get so bad they are kicked out of public schools they end up in private schools !
While the popular thing on gun forums is to blame liberals/progressives for all society’s ills, the #1 problem in this case is a close tie between lawyers and parents. Administrators without balls and teachers without subject matter expertise or classroom management skills are next on the list.
