I’m picking up a Springfield Long Beach Operator. I carried a Springfield Pro Operator for a few years on duty in a Safariland 6280 and found it to be pretty heavy. So what holster/belt combo are you guys using to carry a railed 1911 every day? I currently wear a suit or business casual everyday.
I bought a Black Dog Concealment kydex belt holster for that exact gun and am very fond of it. It holds it securely (you can hold it upside down with the loaded magazine in it and it won’t fall out) but comes out very easy. It’s a good buy.
I used a Milt Sparks VM2. Carried all day, in and out of a car, etc. This was my setup for over 7 years.
Kydex Werks appendix rig for a Sig scorpion carry 1911.
RCS Phantom/light compatible
What did you leave the VM II for?
It was the 1911 I left. I moved to AIWB and a full sized 1911 with a rail was less than all-day comfortable. I currently carry a Glock 19 in a JM Custom appendix rig.
If I carry the 1911 for any reason I go right back to the VM2 without hesitation.
I love the vm2s. Have one for a Sig p220 carry and for a full size 1911. Unfortunately the one for the 1911 won’t fit my trp operator.
DSG sell Raven, knock offs that are very nice. $75 ish.
if you prefer leather the vm2 is really hard to beat.
I have two brands I’ve been using:

Hard to beat the VMII. It’s wide footprint helps with heavy guns. And it’s classy enough for a suit. I also use a worn out McDaniel II from Sam Andrews, for my Dawson-railed Colt. IMO, it conceals a tad bit better than the VMII, but is a tad less stable, due to the single belt loop.
I’ve been running Winthrop leather rigs for over 1 1/2 years now and can’t say anything bad about them. If you like leather give them a look.
For leather I’m another big fan of the Milt Sparks VMII. Easily the best IWB leather holster I’ve run. If you want kydex I am still a fan of the Raven Phantom with the IWB or tuck-able IWB loops.
Strongside OWB and Red Earth Concealment IWB for a Sig TacOps Carry TB.
I used a deSantis Scabbard as well for it and it was comfortable. It’s under $50 on optics planet.

What is a good AIWB for a railed 1911? I currently have TRP Operator and looking for a good holster when I occasionally want to carry the TRP.
You may want to check-out the 1911 Forum as well. I recently picked up a NH GRP Recon and after looking around decided to order a holster from C. Rusty Sherrick. I saw that Wilson Combat has some real nice leather too.
Although, I have kydex and plastic holsters; I still prefer leather holsters. Another great thing about leather is that a holster can usually be stretched to fit a particular model. One thing I found is that if you are looking to carry the pistol with a light attached, then few custom leather makers are interested in making a holster. Otherwise, if you plan to carry your TRP without the light finding a holster should be no problem.

Alessi cqcs…great way to carry!
Let’s be clear here…you said “railed” 1911…are you carrying with a WM light attached? I ask because I am interested in a holster for this as well but for actually carrying with a WM light. Seems like Raven might be the way to go. Thanks.
Raven concealment Phantom is what I use for all my 1911s. I prefer a 3 o’clock carry position and I use it in an iwb configuration with my non-railed 1911 and in the owb position with my colt/x300 combo.
