what grain bullet?

My AR that I just finished has a 14.5 inch, 1x9 twist barrel. What grain bullet would be the most accurate? I’ve been shootng 55 grain hollow points and they seem to be fine. Would it affect it any if I went up to a 62 grain? Any info is greatly appreciated!!

You won’t really know until you shoot it.

In theory 60-69gr should be the most accurate in a 1x9 barrel. Some long (20-24") 1x9 barrels have been know to stabilize 73-75gr ammo pretty well too. I use a 1x9 twist barrel in my 3gun rifle because all I ever shoot in that gun is 55gr. My other ARs have 1x7 twist barrels.

I was using umc 55 gr.
Started using 62 gr. Brown bear and have noticed a marked improvement.
My setup is the same 14.5 1x9 twist

One of my 16" AR’s w/ a 1/9 twist barrel (SLR 15 ) likes Black Hills 75gr best. Go figure!!?? The only way to find our for sure is to shoot various loads.
