What exactly is an SAS lower rail for a KAC RAS/RIS?

Title says it all…want to say I saw someone selling these a while back on TOS but don’t really know what they are. Is it a worthy upgrade?

It’s a much more solid/rigid mount that just at the delta ring which does move. Even better would be to go with a true free floated rail.

Thanks…so does the lower rail lock down like the upper rail does?
I already have a KAC FF RAS on my M4 and a DD 12.0 on my Recce AR just picked up another standard RAS that I may put on my KISS rifle for vert grip and light only

yes the SAS lower rail locks down like the upper rail, while the standard lower rail simply drops in like the standard plastic handguards
