My criteria is- hip, forward cant or really high-ride, outside the waistband. thumbsnap prefered, but i’d just as soon go with a good tight open top.
been looking at the blackhawk 3-slot pancake thumbsnap- seems like the only g17 holster out there with as much forward cant to it.
what do you use?
My suggestion is the Milt Sparks 55BN-C which a FBI cant open top. It is tight and rides high. Like this (however this is a G26):

What about the MTAC?
Comfortable, but it is a lot of material to be riding around in your pants
I CCW a G.19, though the M7X Matrix will also holster the Glock.17.

after packing the thing around today tucked into my pants on my hip, i think i may actually consider an IWB holster… IF i do, it’s gonna need to be something really comfortable… i wear wranglers, and I wear 'em tight.
however, i’ve always kept my sidearm on my hip, outside my pants, and i don’t see any reason to change now.

G19 carried in a Comp-Tac CTAC IWB with velcro clips and a velcro backed Beltman belt or a Wilderness Tactical velcro backed belt. Don’t know I have it on - jeans, shorts, khakis.

wow… that thing doesnt leave much to the imagination, does it? you actually use that as a CCW?
If you have to go IWB the Comp Tac C Tac is hard to beat. I can’t stand an IWB holster and I cquired one for an HK 45. Even with that huge gun IWB, it’s pretty comfortable in the C Tac. For OWB, Raven all the way. I’ve got Phantoms and Ghosts and they’re great holsters.
