What are the differences between the Mod 0 and Mod 1 Gunfighter grips?
If you also have experience with the Umbrella grip, how does it compare to the BCM grips?
The primary (possibly only?) difference appears to be the presence or lack of the beaver-tail-ish backstrap extension that covers a portion of the rear of the lower receiver.
The pictures of the Mod 0/1 on BCM’s site make it pretty clear:

I feel like a putz for missing that now very obvious fact. I was thinking angle, width and frontstrap/backstrap length differences.
No beaver tail = hand higher on the grip and closer to the bore. Anyone know of other differences?
If there are more fundamental differences, I couldn’t find them listed in the product descriptions on BCM’s page. Perhaps some others with direct experience with these grips could chime in?
I am pretty sure that is the only difference. It is a nice grip. The only thing is I wish it was a tad bit wider.

Yeah… one has the “beaver tail” on the back…
Both have the option of the duckbill on the front.
The beaver tail also increase the “trigger reach”. Other than that there are no appreciable differences.
There is a .25 ounce difference in weight. Once again no appreciable differences.
The Umbrella grip basically feels like a thicker Mod 1 with slightly more of a vertical angle.
Only complaints are 1. Its slippery (supposedly newer models will have texturing) but that’s easily fixed. 2. No storage. I am not one of those guys who has to have storage but I always liked storing my SF Earpro in the grip. Makes it easier to keep up with.

Looks interesting, good to know. I may try it out, however, I am kind of disappointed that there is no storage. I need someplace to keep my spare gold pieces secure. Oh well, nothing some duct tape won’t fix.
The difference is… They’re both too damn skinny.
Hopefully Magpul’s new K2 grip will be better, but I doubt it.
Hopefully, it is thicker that the original K grip. And it comes out sooner than later.

They feel great to me. And I’m kinda sure old Paulie boy put a little thought into the grip design. 
WAY too skinny for me, and I’ve only tried the MOD1s. Can’t imagine what the Mod0 feels like. Now the large backstrapped MIAD? That the correct size for me. Many folks have wished the MOD1 was fatter. They need a MOD2 for big mitts/long fingers.
