I did a search and found nothing so i figure i’ll ask.
Looking for a chest rig and US Calvary is carrying the BDS Simple stacker for a decent price. I’ve heard rumblings about company ethics that i’m not to concerned with just looking for a decent rig that’s not going to cost me an arm and a leg.
What do people think?

Even though it’s a great rig I wouldnt classify it as “simple”

well. for starters there is a really nasty un-ethical back story to how they got started. then they took other manufacturer’s products, reverse engineered them, and generally do a half assed job of sewing it all back together.
They have a bad reputation on several of the boards i trust the most.
and i can name, but won’t, at least two major manufacturer’s that have made claims of having to fix BDS’s build problems when the customers had no where else to turn.
That’s what i wanted to hear, if the quality is crap i’m all set.
Since that’s the case i might end up with a tactical tailor chest rig and harness.
Just wanted to weigh in here. I recieved a BDS split front rig last October, 1 month wait time, no problems at all. I am aware of the drama between companies but I didn’t base my decision on that. I have read a ton of bad talking but seen no pictures/evidence of their quality issues. I see none with my own example. Anyway here are some close up photos of the rig and stitching as was new. If you want to see something uo close let me know and I’ll post the pics.
I have a BDS Ass Pack that I got in the time between BDS just starting up and John starting OSOE. It’s exactly the same as the old school SOE Ass Pack I have in both construction and quality. I cannot comment on their newer items, but I will say that I don’t like the look of the rear of their vests and prefer the SOE versions.
Do you ever wear that rig with a padded molle belt? Does it get in the way?
It’s very adjustable, so it can ride high enough to use a molle belt but I don’t know why you’d want both. I tend to wear chest rigs lower on my body than most do but I’ve got orangutan arms so…
Simply put this was the best rig for the features I prefer in my price range. YMMV
Just looking at the options out there. I’m thinking of a chest rig for rifle mags and a molle war belt to hold a 1911 and mags.
We’re also aware of the drama between companies and didn’t base our decision on that. We own 2 BDS split chest rigs, a tactical stacker assault vest, and a tactical split ammo chest rig, that we ordered some time apart. We waited one month for each and have had no experience with quality issues. In addition, we also own a combat trauma med bag which we waited a month for and have also experienced no quality issues with.
