What about a 5.56 VZ???

I know there may be are SOME kind of plans out there. What do you think of one that actually took AR mags??? Or even AK 5.56 mags? thoughts? Thanks.

They’re available pretty easily in Canada and seem to work fine.

There is a company working on a magwell adapter to allow them to use AR mags. There is also a company working on a .22lr conversion.

But speaking personally, I don’t see much of a point to a 5.56 VZ. The VZ is a great commie rifle but it’s not such an incredible thing that I think I would run it to the exclusion of a good AR, for example.

I run mine because x39 is $200/1120 up here. If the cost margin narrowed, I’d just run an AR, myself.

But I’ll be the first person to say that my VZ has performed very well. I ran it in a Hackathorn class a few weeks ago, and it cruised through with no trouble.

might be cool but personally I’m going to stick to AR’s and AK’s just because of aftermarket support and the familiarity I already have with those platforms.

Good points, but here are my thoughts:

  1. Plenty of folks here enjoy pointing out the advantages of the piston gun.

  2. Many decry attempts to turn M4 into a piston gun.

  3. SCAR is the new craze because of its advantages and being BASED on piston driven design. But at $2500+…

  4. VZ is simple, lightweight, and… if you move the charging handle to the left, it is nearly perfect in the ergo sense. And, at less than $1000 with plenty of mags, it would be nice.

Yup - support not as great - but its pretty good now. If you want REAL support, go M4.

Just a few thoughts.

it’s all a matter of personal preference and I’m not going to knock anyone for buying a quality arm that they like. the CZ is a good platform but it doesn’t do it for me. no real reason other than I’m already into AK’s and AR’s. I’m not even going to touch the piston comment because that will get off topic REAL fast. I think it would be good to make more variants in other calibers. more guns in the hands of honest law-abiding citizens is a good thing.
