I literally swapped everything over to KMR-A after I bought one and sold my other rails. This was 2 years ago. Going to be building a truck gun and so the 9" KMR I have now will go on the truck rifle.
So that leaves my SBR railess. Been out of the game and lost touch with what all the cool cats are running now days.
SBR wears a 11.5" barrel and 50/50 suppressed. Uses include run/gun and in classes mostly.
Need/want 10.5" rail or about there. Going for the seamless rail to suppressor look…yea yea I know…
I also have a Geissele mk8 on an 11.5. I would also consider the new mk14 (I have the 13" on a 13.7 gun and really like it). The ALG 10" is also very nice especially for the price. Those are all I have personal experience with, I’m sure there are many other good options.
Cross Machine Tool has two nice rails coming out. I’ll get some pics up of their mod 3, and the mod 4 is a couple weeks out. Good pricing, good rails, good looking, great quality.
I’m using a aetheon lite rail from 2a Armament
I.chose it for the lighter weight and integrated qd mounts
I’ve not used it hard yet but the customer service is unparalleled
Hodge Defense 10 3/4" MLOK hanguard works nicely on an 11.5" barrel; long barrel nut and very stiff; leaves about an 1/8 inch gap between the handguard and suppressor
Please point in the direction of a place that has one in stock. I was considering buying the stripped upper and a lower, but I can’t find anything else in stock.
Thanks for the link, I was referred there by a buddy already, I think the other website doesn’t have them in stock and I got confused. My only problem with buying anything from Hodge is, based on my readings about him and his process, is that I would be doing a great disservice to myself and the components if I were to assemble them myself. Really nice beautiful work, though.
You would think they were the way people talk about the gun and HDSI . I just thought that was a big part of the whole deal w/ his rifles (the assembly process that is).
I’ve never seen a HDSI built rifle, but from what I understand it’s as much about the time in care putting a rifle together. I believe HDSI forges some of the parts from non standard materials, but the stripped upper and handguard I bought are both made from 7075 alum.
A KAC URX4 KM or MLOK hand guard would be a good alternative too. I’m happy with my other upper that has the BCM KMR-A too. Good luck with whichever one you choose!
