Okay so i have decided to forego all the rail madness on my KISS rifle and i need a light mount . I have seen what appears to be a mount that looks like its made out of the same material as a set of standard handguards . It even has the same ribbing. Almost like a surefire m500 but without the 500 dollar price tag . Basically i want a simple mount that i can put between my 6 and 12 oclock positions with a minimum of hassle and bs. My back up plan is a fsb mount. However i have seen lights mounted on old shorty carbines in the fashion i would like i just have never gotten close enough to see the mounts. Any help would be great.
Easiest way to mount to standard AR handguards. Streamlight tactical illuminator mount for like $20.

Provides a rail you can put a scope/ring mount and a flashlight on. I use this mount on my super simple KISS upper.
The cheapest way is to buy/find a short piece of weaver scope mount and custom attach it to the handguard. This involves some removal of handguard ribbing, a fashioned backplate, and some nuts and bolts. Works just fine as well.
Dennis.
I have one of these ordered for my MOE handguard. I think it is going to be the ticket for me for a 11 o’clock mount.

I just got one of these and I dig it. Simple, lightweight and practical.
