Weird issue with a firing pin being stuck forward.

Good. You’ll be glad you did. EGW firing pins are GTG, so are Wilson Bulletproofs and Ed Browns. I wouldn’t feel bad with another Colt pin either…

Got the EGW Firing Pin on Friday, installed it, did a bunch of dry fire and even fired some test rounds. The new firing pin shows no sign of peening, or flattening out.

Also replaced the recoil spring, and the recoil spring (16#) with ISMI springs. Looks like the gun is back up and running. Thank you guys for your help!

Had the exact same issue on a colt rail gun. Firing pin is soft…colt should issue a recall on this or send out new firing pins.

Whoa. That’s such a simple issue but nearly completely stops a gun. You’d think firing pins would be sorted out by now. Probably an outsourcing issue.

Did you send it back to Colt?

Yep. Simple.

Try Wolff springs next time. They fit correctly.

Something wrong with ISMI?

Thanks you for your help,
