Weird finish in upper receiver: pic included

I recently purchased a new complete upper. Inside the upper the finish looks strange. It looks similar to when you paint something and you use too much paint and it runs. The finish in the upper does not have texture to it and it does not come off if I try to clean it. I am going to shoot it tomorrow. If it shoots fine and the finish doesnt actually flake off I wasnt going to worry about but wanted some opinions.

what upper? it’s a sloppy job, but won’t affect anything.

Sloppy job at applying DFL (Dry Film Lube).

Wow…that is such a fantastic thread, where the heck was that when I first started out with ARs. The way all those pics and almost powerpoint looking presentation come together with the actual info is dynamite.

It is a noveske

so what? It doesn’t matter one bit. Shoot the shit out of that gun.

Normal…now go out and put some rounds downrange

Looks like a Vltor receiver. Don’t worry about it. It’s fine.

2,048 × 1,536? An 800x600 image would have been more than enough for us to tell that its the dry lube that is supposed to be there.

Go shoot it, there is nothing to worry about.

I’ll second that! Quib do you have any other instructional presentations on the web you can link too?
